52 · Text copied from real universities and a news report, placeholders and typos in the demo content¶

Problem/Motivation¶
While translating the demo content we found these errors:
- Text copied from real institutions: the demo university is called Eduzin, but its pages quote other universities word for word. One paragraph begins "Founded to accelerate the nation's industrial revolution, MIT is profoundly American"; the leadership section of the About page describes "The Institute's board of trustees, known as 'the Corporation'"; on the Admissions and Research pages, the FAQ answer to "What programs do you offer?" begins "Stanford provides students the opportunity to engage with big ideas"; the footer gives "450 Jane Stanford Way, Stanford, CA".
- A news report copied into a page: the Canvas page "African and American Studies", linked in the menu, shows the heading "University Launches New Artificial Intelligence Research Center" and then ten paragraphs about smartphone use, with quotes from named researchers at Cambridge University and Bath Spa University and figures from a survey commissioned by Virgin Media O2. It reads like an article taken from a news site, and it has nothing to do with the heading or the page title.
- Placeholders: "Sed ut perspiciatis unde omnis iste natus error sit voluptatem accusantium" under "Why Students Choose Our University"; "John Doe, Master's in Economics" as a testimonial; the address
john.doe@gmail.com, which belongs to a real mail provider's domain. - Typos and cut-off text: "MISSION STSTEMENT"; "… across science, technology, health, business, and the humanitie" (cut off).
- Inconsistent details: "New York, NA 23367-2478" (no such state); the page and menu link "African and American Studies" next to the program "African and African American Studies".
- Two descriptions: the recipe describes the template differently from the template list of the Drupal CMS installer.
- Identical event texts: all 40 events share the same seven paragraphs; only the first sentence and the venue differ.
Steps to reproduce¶
- Install Drupal CMS with Educare.
- Open the About page, the Admissions page, the footer and the page "African and American Studies" in the menu.
Proposed resolution¶
Replace the copied texts with original text about the fictional university, remove the placeholder testimonial and the Gmail address (use an example.com address), fix the typos and the address, and align the descriptions.
Additional information¶
Found with Educare 1.0.x on Drupal CMS 2.2.1 (October 2026). The German translation of dcle leaves the copied texts untranslated – translating text taken from other publications would only copy it a second time – and translates the rest as it is.
