Default Content Locale Extended¶
Works with Drupal CMS 2.2
Tested with Drupal CMS 2.2.0 and 2.2.1 (Drupal core 11.4, Canvas 1.12)
and all 23 free site templates of the installer, including the
multilingual Dashi and the templates newly listed in October 2026. Older
Drupal CMS versions are not tested. Installation: composer require 'drupal/dcle:1.0.x-dev@dev',
see Try it without the installer.
Drupal CMS ships ready-made site templates. This module makes sure they are fully translated after an installation in another language: pages, menus, forms, image descriptions and settings.
For German installations there is also the Drupal CMS German Installer, an independent project that translates the installation itself.
Listen¶
Why these projects exist is also explained in a spoken version – in English and in German, about 20 to 25 minutes.

What it looks like¶
The front pages of all free site templates right after an installation in German through the web installer – without a single change afterwards.
