48 · Broken links, glued summaries and cut-off text in the demo content¶
| Project | Varbase Starter (site template varbase_starter, with varbase_demo_content and varbase_media_assets) |
| Component | Default content |
| Category | Bug report |
| Priority | Minor |
| Status | Draft, not filed on drupal.org yet |
Problem/Motivation¶
While translating the demo content we found these errors:
- Links to pages that do not exist: the footer menu link "Terms and Conditions" and the consent text of the Business Contact webform point to
/terms-and-conditions; the FAQ answer "How do I get started?" links to/documentation. Both return 404. - Summaries without a space: the summaries of all twelve blog posts join the first heading and the first sentence without a space, e.g. "Showcasing Varbase Success Stories:This blog post will highlight …".
- Cut-off text: the post "Case Studies: Successful Websites Powered by Varbase" ends mid-sentence: "… significant improvements in traffic, user engagement, and operational".
- Contradicting versions: the About Varbase page says "Built on Drupal 11" in one paragraph and "the best Drupal 10 web development" in the next.
- Wrong alternative text: the media item "Colleagues reviewing a document on a tablet" has the alternative text "Friendly support agent with headset".
- Two descriptions: the template list of the Drupal CMS installer describes the template differently ("Designed as a general-purpose starting point …") from the recipe itself ("Designed for teams starting a new Varbase site …").
Steps to reproduce¶
- Install Drupal CMS with Varbase.
- Open the footer link "Terms and Conditions", the FAQ on the home page and the blog listing.
- Open the post "Case Studies: Successful Websites Powered by Varbase" and the About Varbase page.
Proposed resolution¶
Add the missing pages or change the links; build the summaries with a space after the heading (or write them by hand); complete the cut-off sentence; use one Drupal version; correct the alternative text.
Additional information¶
Found with Varbase Starter 1.0.x on Drupal CMS 2.2.1 (October 2026). The German translation of dcle completes the cut-off sentence and adds the missing spaces in the summaries; the links are translated as they are.
